Clinical Presentations FAQ

Before you buy.

What are the Clinical Presentations books?
They're a UKMLA revision series organised by presenting complaint — the symptom the patient walks in with (chest pain, breathlessness, headache, the unwell child) rather than the final diagnosis. They train the differential-diagnosis reasoning the UKMLA emphasises, and come in both formats: a Question Bank (practice SBAs) and Study Guides (notes + flashcards).
How is this different from the condition-based Question Bank and Study Guides?
The original series is organised by diagnosis and organ system (e.g. 'Cardiovascular Medicine'); the Clinical Presentations series is organised by how patients actually present (e.g. 'chest pain', 'falls', 'haematuria'). They complement each other — many students revise conditions to build knowledge, then drill presentations to practise working from symptom to diagnosis under exam conditions.
What format are the books, and can I get a refund?
Every volume is delivered as a PDF and an EPUB — read them on laptops, tablets, phones and e-readers, yours to keep. Because they're instant digital downloads, all sales are final and non-refundable (you consent to immediate access at checkout). If a file won't open or you were charged in error, email support@mlaprep.co.uk and we'll make it right.
Should I get the Question Bank or the Study Guides?
The Question Bank is practice — exam-style SBAs with worked, NICE/BNF-referenced explanations. The Study Guides are revision notes — the core knowledge for each presentation plus a flashcard table per chapter. They pair perfectly, and each has a complete-set bundle that's cheaper than buying the volumes individually.
