1. Summary
We want MLA Prep to be worth every penny. If it isn't working for you, we offer two straightforward refund windows: a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription and a 14-day pro-rata refund on annual plans. After those windows, refunds are at our discretion — but we read every request on its merits.
2. 7-day money-back (first subscription)
If you're subscribing to MLA Prep for the first time and it doesn't fit what you need, you can request a full refund within 7 days of your initial payment — no clinical viva required. This applies to both weekly and annual plans.
The 7-day guarantee applies to first-time subscribers only. If you've previously held a subscription (including a refunded one), later plans fall under the annual pro-rata rules or the discretionary window below.
3. 14-day pro-rata (annual plans)
If you're on an annual plan beyond the 7-day first-subscription window, you can still request a pro-rata refund within 14 daysof the annual charge — whether that's your initial payment or an auto-renewal.
Pro-rata is calculated as the annual fee minus the value of the days already used, charged at the equivalent weekly rate. For example: cancelling 10 days into a £49.99 annual plan returns roughly £49.99 − (10 ÷ 7 × £4.99) ≈ £42.86.
4. After the windows
Outside of the windows above, refunds are at our discretion. We consider them case-by-case — for example, if you had a serious technical issue that we couldn't resolve, or a genuinely exceptional circumstance. Get in touch and tell us what happened.
We do not issue refunds simply because a subscription auto-renewed and wasn't cancelled in time, once the 14-day annual window has passed. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account settings — cancellation stops future charges immediately.
5. How to request a refund
Email golukicoding@gmail.com from the address on your MLA Prep account with:
- The email on your account.
- The approximate date of the payment you'd like refunded.
- One line on why — we don't interrogate, but it helps us improve the product.
6. Processing & timing
Eligible refunds are processed within 5 working days of approval and issued back to the original payment method via our payment partner, Dodo Payments. Depending on your bank, it can take a further 3–10 days to show on your statement.
Once a refund is issued, the associated subscription is cancelled and access to paid features ends at the next billing boundary (or immediately, for full refunds).
7. Exclusions
- Refunds on weekly plans are limited to the 7-day first-subscription window — we do not pro-rate weekly renewals.
- We may decline refund requests where there's evidence of account sharing, scraping, or other breaches of our Terms of Service.
- Chargebacks filed with your card issuer before contacting us will suspend the account while we investigate.
8. Your statutory rights
This policy sits on top of your statutory consumer rights under UK and EU law and does not replace them. Under the UK's Consumer Contracts Regulations, purchases of digital content are generally excluded from the 14-day cooling-off period once you've started using the service — but nothing in this policy limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
